John Curley

John Curley pursued a college education over 50 years ago at 4C’s in the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program. He fondly looks back at his experiences at Cape Cod Community College as the “jumping off point” for his entire career. The invaluable skills he learned in the hospitality program carved the path to earning his bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Administration from UMASS Amherst and securing his first job at the Hilton Hotel Corporation in 1976.

For the next 3 years, John worked his way through the management chain, preparing to start his own business in the coming years. In 1989, John established Curley Publishing of South Yarmouth, and later, Curley Direct, where he would oversee the daily operations of commercial printing and mail marketing for a wide range of industries including hospitality, nonprofit, real estate, home building, and landscaping. Through the years, John has maintained strong ties with 4C’s and the local community through his large book of business that expands all throughout Cape Cod and the South Shore.

John is no stranger to giving back, never hesitating to volunteer his time and expertise where needed. John has served on a variety of Boards over the years, most recently serving on the Cape Cod Technical High School Advisory Board and the Kelley Foundation Board. He also donates annually to the Seaside Le Mans – The Race for the Cape Cod Community as an annual sponsor.

From his generous volunteer efforts to his unwavering dedication to serving his community for over 30 years at Curley Direct, John is a true pillar to the Cape Cod community. We are pleased to recognize him with the 2021 Alumni of the Year award.
